[The network gets a close-up of a tuxedo cat's curious face, and then the feline loses interest and moves on--revealing a dozen more cats huddling on a bed and crowding close to Rita, who's quick to complain to her roommate.]

What a pain! Where are these guys all coming from?

[Despite her best attempt to put on a grumpy face, both of her hands are busy skritching ears of the closest cats.

As for said roommate, Estelle sits next to Rita on the bed--and the cats absolutely refuse to come near her, leaving the princess' half of the bed empty except for herself.]

[ooc: Rita is cursed with the (arguably) not-awesome superpower to attract cats today! Estelle is just a natural deterrent.]

[And Estelle tries to pet one of the many cats that have wound up on the bed, however every time she moves to touch one it hisses at her and runs away. However, she won't give up! She tries to pet another one and the same thing occurs, a hiss and it runs off...

She pouts and whines...]

Why won't any of you let me pet you?

[It might have been funny to watch if this was anybody but Estelle. As it is, Rita feels a little bad for her, but she can't come up with any logical explanation besides one thing...]

Well, this has to be a curse. There's no way they'd all come running in like this otherwise. Maybe you're cursed with the opposite or something.

[As much as Estelle wants to believe her, she really can't considering that she can't even get their house animals to come into sight around her, no matter how much she calls for them. This is honestly the closest she's come to them ever since her arrival here aside from that day a cat followed her and she got to play with a dog...]

Maybe...

[Her voice and expression show that she doesn't quite believe Rita as the cats don't even want to seem to come near her.]

Come on, Estelle--they can't dislike you or anything!

[Rita thinks that's impossible! They're just animals, and Estelle's really friendly, so naturally Rita believes they should get along just fine...]

[And Rita's words give Estelle a sort of determination as she reaches out to pet another cat. And instead of hissing at her, it instead reaches out and takes a swipe at her hand with its claws, causing her to bleed. Pulling back instantly, Estelle brings her hand to her mouth, sucking up the little blood that had already started to leak out, then cast a healing spell on herself.]

Estelle-!

[It might be just a scratch, but not even a cat is allowed to treat Rita's best friend that way! She tries to shoo the offending cat away, but it reaches up to butt its head against her hand.]

Don’t worry, Rita. I’m okay!

[It hurt really badly, but she’s thankful for her ability to cast healing spells. Inspecting her hand, there isn’t a scratch or scar and the pain is gone as well. Though she can’t help but be a little jealous as she sees the cats trying to get Rita’s attention. Estelle wants to pay attention to them too!

Why don’t they like her!?]

[Rita believes it, since Estelle's healing artes have never been anything short of amazing. Still, she picks up the cat that scratched her and leans over to place it down on the floor.]

Go on, go away...

Anyway, I don't get it--it just has to be a curse.

Maybe it's a curse that makes cats really like you! [There's a bit of a pause... then...] I wish I could get cats to like me like that...

[She's not quite pouting anymore, but she still moves her hand to try to pet another one of the cats, and this one just walks away from her. Perhaps she really was cursed to repel these cats from her...]
