Those..things yesterday--why the hell did the City let something like that loose? N-not that they were scary or anything. They weren't so tough against a few fireballs...I think we might need to replace a couple things in the house...

[The last part is muttered, but audible. Rita knows she's probably in for an earful for using magic in the house again.]

[OOC: Whether or not she blew up anything major (appliances, walls, etc) can be left up to housemates. Otherwise, it'll just be a couple small things like a light or a window.]

...That's a relief. I was a bit worried when I heard there were some around you.

We're okay here, though a bunch of them did get in...I just used a few spells to blow them up. [Inside. Oops.]

You blew them up? [Surprised and impressed. And it's a little violent, but they were just statues, right?]

With the way it happened, a lot of us were totally unprepared. It made getting around difficult.

Yeah...they were tougher than normal stone statues, but it worked.

It's hard to be prepared for the curses. You just never know what they will be and they so often don't make any sense.

That's the problem. About the only thing we could do is lock ourselves up before midnight to make sure we don't do anything stupid the next day, but...that would be kind of lame.

...Have you ever thought about about learning to protect yourself, Euphie? Even some basic self-defense--it wouldn't do much against the statues, but it might come in handy when there's nobody around to help you.

Actually, I do have some basic self-defense training. My older sister insisted on it. [Hand-to-hand, knightmare frame piloting...firing a weapon.] But I don't think there's anything I could have done to those statues, and I don't want to hurt anyone.

That's just another reason it wouldn't work, so preparing for them is kind of useless.

You do? Then maybe you'll be all right as long as nothing too dangerous shows up. I know you don't want to hurt anybody, but nobody wants to see you get hurt, either.
