Euphie? I, uh--it's good to see you.

[She steps closer, smiling softly at the girl.] It's good to see you too. What are you doing?

[Rita doesn't move from where she is, but her eyes flicker to Euphie's face and away again every so often.]

J-just...research, I guess.

[Wants to make Rita feel more comfortable.] You like studying, don't you?

Yeah...There's always new things to learn, no matter how much you've read. [A typical response from Rita, but her heart's not really in it.]

[That makes her so confused. What does she possibly have to be proud of right now? So she avoids looking at Euphie again, staring at the floor.]

...Wh-what...what are you talking about? Y-you can't be proud of anything I've done.

[She reaches out to touch the other girl's shoulder.] You're strong and smart and you keep trying. Of course I'm proud of you, Rita. The curse doesn't change that.

[At the touch, she flinches slightly but doesn't move away.] ...I wasn't strong or smart enough. Not to stop the curse.

I...I mean nothing was in control of me. I might've been cursed, but--th-the curse didn't make the decisions for me. I did all of it myself.

[Though she gets what Euphie means, and sighs.] ...Sorry.
