Well, that was pointless. What idiot decided to send me home, and then bring me right back after a day?

[Idiot, city, whatever it was that made the decision. In any case, Rita sighs out of annoyance--primarily due to the disorientation from returning and regaining her memories--and then continues with a simple-]

No way! I mean, music's fine when it's not the same awful stuff all day--that was just a pain!

Presea and I had a fun time trying to decide just what the lyric meant. Maybe that was why it didn't seem as tiresome to me.

I actually looked up what a hippopotamus was, but I still don't understand why they would make a good pet.
[Teasing a bit. That song was clearly a joke as obviously only someone like Lantis would think that would be pet material. ]

Some one who really likes animals. I think the zoo has a few of them. They look very happy in their little enclosures.

Zoo? Isn't that the place where they keep all these things on display? Sounds pretty weird, if you ask me.

Why would it be weird? I think it is kind of nice to see those animals in something resembling their nature habitat.
And Lantis does enjoy taking care of them all.

He enjoys taking care of monsters? That's exactly what's weird.

There are a lot of monster on Cephiro and many of them are treated like pets… but while they are big and strange looking I am not really sure I would call a hippopotamus a monster.

They eat people? They always seemed perfectly tame when Lantis was aro--... but then I suppose they would. He is very good with animals.

Huh? Of course they eat people! That's what monsters do.

But they were eating lettuce when I saw them not meat?

Well, maybe they're omnivores or something.

That could be. I really should make a note to ask Lantis about them sometime.

Maybe...But it could just be a difference in my world. Some other guy who was here couldn't believe that penguins in my world eat people. How weird is that?

[She doesn't exactly notice...nor does she notice that she's started to pretty much idly chat with him now.]

[That she isn't yelling at him for something is a very surprising thing, but he is enjoying just being able to have a simple conversation with her. ]

Penguins eat people too? But, they were so sweet when I was able to feed them at the zoo. Lantis said they like to eat fish.

A ten-foot-tall flying monster will eat just about anything it sees. But it just sounds like the ones here are pretty pathetic.

Ten-foot.. and they fly?

We must be talking about different animals! The penguins I saw were really short, a foot or less, and they swam instead of being able to fly.
