Well, that was pointless. What idiot decided to send me home, and then bring me right back after a day?

[Idiot, city, whatever it was that made the decision. In any case, Rita sighs out of annoyance--primarily due to the disorientation from returning and regaining her memories--and then continues with a simple-]

So I'm back, anyway.

[ooc: Hiatus over! As mentioned by Rita, only one day went by for her while she was gone from the City for the month.]

[There's the sound of her footsteps on the wooden porch, and then the front door opening as Rita finally makes it to the house.]

Estelle?

[Upon hearing her name, footsteps could be heard as she ran down the stairs and into Rita for an embrace. While part of her knew that it was terrible that the City brought her friend back, another part of her was insanely happy to see her again, and her very presence was a relief to Estelle. Giving her a tight squeeze, she loosened her grip just a bit.]

Hey-

[She makes a little gasp of surprise, though she's not really shocked--it's been a long time for Estelle, after all. Like with Tyr, Rita hugs her back.]

I...I'm back.

[Resting her chin on her shoulder, Estelle takes a deep breath, sighing in relief in just how happy she is to see Rita again. Perhaps Rita can feel that relief in the way she sighs, in the way she hugs her, not wanting to let her go, at least not yet.]

Welcome back, Rita. ...I really missed you.

Estelle...

[Rita knows. She can feel it in what Estelle says and does, and she feels a little guilty for being gone all this time, even if there wasn't anything she could do about it. It's not often she apologizes, especially for things out of her control, but she does now, anyway-]

S-sorry. Just, you know--for not being here.

[Finally releasing her friend from her embrace, Estelle pulls back, shaking her head all while wearing a soft smile.]

You needn’t apologize for anything. None of this was your fault; in fact, I should apologize for making you feel guilty.

I-it's not that I- [Oh, right--she wouldn't be apologizing if she didn't feel guilty, so she stops trying to protest, and looks up Estelle, hands on her upper arms.]

It's not your fault either, Estelle.

[Estelle knew it wasn’t anyone’s fault but the City’s. This City is the reason she had been feeling the way she was, but there was nothing she could do about it except get through these tough times. And she knew she could.

With a nod, she lets out a slight laughter.]

Would you like anything to eat, Rita?

[A bit of a change in subject, but there was no need to be hung up on unnecessary apologies.]

I'm not really... [Not really hungry. But...she's not really full or anything either, and Estelle might have something in mind, so...Rita doesn't mind.]

Okay, if you want to want to make something.

I can make a simple rice ball. Oh, or maybe a sandwich you like!

[To Estelle, this is to celebrate Rita’s return. Or maybe it’s a celebration for Estelle, herself, that she has Rita once more. Running into the kitchen, she looks for ingredients in the cupboard and the fridge.]

Which one would you like? Or, I can both!

[Oh, Estelle...Rita smiles a bit, but waves her hand.]

Either one's fine by me. You don't have to go overboard or anything.

But I want to do this for you!

[Too bad, she’s already got the pan out, frying up that egg for a sandwich. And there’s the rice maker, and before she forgets a recipe book just in case. Both these dishes are super easy to make, but she figures it would be best to double check herself.]

Uh, well...okay.

[With a blush, Rita agrees, and decides to let Estelle handle it if that's what her friend really wants to do.]

Just--no fish or anything unless it's in the rice, okay?

I promise that there will be no fish.

[She wasn’t planning on putting any of that in there anyway. Estelle’s dishes were always simple, and followed the book exactly. She was never one to improvise, so while her dishes could be bland, they were at least edible and safe. The sandwich was done fairly quickly as she got down a plate and set it on there, then places it on the table.]

Just a few more minutes, and I will have a few riceballs done as well.

[Her expression is calm - happy. And like she said, the machine’s timer beeps and she quickly prepares a few riceballs and then places those on the plate as well.]

Here you go, it’s all ready!

[And Rita's more than okay with that. She likes food that's easy to make and doesn't need a lot of fussing around. Besides, Estelle made these...

Before the riceballs are even ready, Rita's already picking up half the sandwich, though she can't help but notice her friend's expression when she comes over again.]

You know, you look pretty happy.

I know it’s not very nice, but… I’m just so happy that you came back!

[Estelle was never one to lie, and as relieved as she was that Rita went home during that time, there was just something about having her friend by her side once more. Or maybe she feels relief for the many people here who will get to see her again.]

[Rita gives a small, slow shake of her head. She couldn't stand the thought of Estelle being her alone or dealing with Yuri's idiocy.]

I don't mind. I mean, when you came back, I was happy. [Worried, but happy.]

[She tilts her head slightly giving Rita a small giggle.]

Then... I'm glad!

[Not glad they're here, but glad that they can be happy that they have each other in this place.]
