[Rita just sighs, believing that he's only fooling himself.] What makes you so sure of that?

[ His voice drops a note: ] The fact I know he loves me more than anything else... [ You don't just die for someone casually. ]

[Okay, that's...not the kind of response she was expecting. She blinks, a little taken aback and not quite sure how to respond.] ...Uh...Oh. If...you say so. [That reply wasn't awkward at all...]

[ He wasn't really expecting a real response for that. To continue the awkwardness, he just falls silent. At least she can't argue that point?? ]

[...Or. Well. She could, but whether or not she will...The silence is awkward enough after that conversation and today hasn't exactly been their friendliest--But she's curious.]

...Hey. How do you know, anyway? [That Gremio loves him. Actually saying that part out loud would feel too weird.]

[ Tyr liked the fact she couldn't argue against it. Even though the past few days haven't been that great to Tyr, he still answers her flatly. She doesn't need to know details, though. ]

Because... he's always put my life before his own... [ ...it doesn't cross his mind there might be a weird misunderstanding over what he means by "loves". ]

[Thankfully, there's no misunderstanding over "loves". Yet.]

Is...that all there is to it? [It's not that it's a bad answer. Rita just thought there would be more.]

[ Sob. ;; ]

What more do you want? [ Which may or may not be a simple question. ]

Huh? It's not that I want more...I was just asking. [She answers a little distractedly, though, as she thinks about his reason.]

All right... [ And he isn't just going to offer up the information. He can tell she's distracted, though, and looks over his shoulder to see if there's anything obvious causing that. ]

[Rita doesn't notice right away, too lost in her thoughts to concentrate on what's around her.] Is it like that for other people...? [She might just be mumbling out loud to herself.]

[ Tyr doesn't get it... He blinks, still looking at her as he slows his pace. ] Is what?

Huh? [Oh, did she say that out loud? Uh--She hastily tries to explain.] I-I mean, what you said about your reason--Do you think it's like that for everyone?

[ He's not really following, flustered or not. ] ... No, I don't think the way he's devoted to me is something everybody has...

Oh. Uh, okay. It wasn't anything important, anyway. [Was it? She's not sure whether she's relieved or disappointed...Or if they're even on the same page about this.]

[ Tyr isn't sure if they're on the same page either. ] Is that what you were wondering?

[Actually, Rita's not entirely sure about that, either.] I guess--Yeah, that's all.

Okay... [ Tyr returns to silence. This isn't a subject he wants to push himself. ]

[Which is probably for the best. And Rita, in an effort to try and distract herself, thinks instead to Tyr's reply about nobody being more devoted.]

...It's just...kind of nice to have someone like that.

[ He's a little surprised by her words. He looks over to her again (and is possibly trying to fall into step beside her), and there's a faint hint of happiness in his voice as he asks: ]

You have somebody like that, too?

[She hugs the cat she's carrying closer and stares straight ahead awkwardly in order to avoid his eyes. Does she? Not like that, no way.]

Well, I--I don't know about that. I was just saying...

[ Somehow, the fact she's so obviously awkward makes him feel a bit better. ~~It's a little cute.~~ He turns forward again for her sake, though. ]

Well... even if you have friends that will look out for you, that's nice enough...

[~~He got his dere back!~~ She definitely can't argue with that, since she's more sure about it.]

Y-yeah...Yeah, it is.
