[The video's not very clear when it comes on; it's dark and gloomy, showing hints of thick dust and cobwebs--a glimpse of a window reveals deep fog--and then it shifts to Rita's wide-eyed face. When she speaks, she's trying very hard to pretend she's calm...and failing pretty horribly.]
I-is anyone else stuck in this weirdo place? I mean, it's not like I need help or anything, but-
[A loud creak and sudden clatter of footsteps interrupts her, the shutters to the window abruptly blowing open, and she jumps with a yelp.] Aah--! Uh--it's not sc--just where's the exit, already?!
[Maybe realizing that the video's still recording her little freak-out, she quickly shuts it off.]
[ooc: Tags slow forever. ._. Sorry!]

[ He doesn't wake up from that alone or even seem to register it. He buries his face in her shoulder, his muscles tensing as he clings onto her in a sleepy way. ]
action; ♥!
[Rita stays frozen for a second, then remembers how he seemed to like what she was doing before he feel asleep--stroking his back--so she resumes that, more firmly than before, and keeps watching.]
action; ♥!
[ He did like that before - and he usually always likes that - in how it made him warm and he took it as a sign of Rita caring about him.
This time, he gasps her name, his dream suddenly changing to something more concrete with her touch. He flails a little, wiggling away from her and trying to push her away like she was a stack of pillows. ]
action; ♥!
[She's not expecting his reaction to be that extreme, and makes a reflexive exclamation of "Hey!" when he does, having to prop herself up with a hand so they don't go falling over. Obviously, that didn't go over well...So she stops rubbing his back, and since she can't think of anything else to do, she just sits still and waits to see if he calms down at all.]
action; ♥!
[ In a way, he does calm down shortly after as just moving around that much and hearing her voice wakes him up. His head is cloudy, though, with little bits of dream still floating around and his heart still racing from the feelings induced by them.
Groaning, he falls back on his own hands and hangs his head. Rita's watching him now, isn't she? If he was alone, of course a nightmare wouldn't be a problem, but along with the anxiety and fear, now his face is red from how ridiculous he feels, too. What does he even do now? His head tries to piece together what happened (not that his nightmares usually made sense...) while trying to think of an explanation for her, too, and in the end, he's just silent and looking down at her knees through barely opened eyes. ]

[Waking him up would've been her next action if he'd kept being bothered by the nightmare, so she breathes a little sigh of relief. She doesn't feel any need to ask what the nightmare was about--there's a reason she didn't want to sleep--but she reaches out after a moment of hesitation to place her hand on his shoulder.] Hey...
action; ♥!
[ He looks up at her, then, and the way she is right now, he doesn't feel like there's any need for him to feel foolish; she understands. Placing a hand over hers, he sits up straight, his eyes a little clearer. ]
I guess I'll stay up for you now... [ He says it without emotion. ]
action; ♥!
[She closes her eyes a moment and nods. It's just a dream, at least--probably a bad one, going from how he looked and he sounds now, but all he needs is a distraction. Her eyes re-open so she can look at him and scoot a bit closer.] You slept a little. Anyway, I had time to think about a simple light formula. I'll put it into a blastia core later.
[It's not really big or important news, but it's something.]

I actually really loved that part of her development.][ She's right: He does just want a distraction away from the Soul Eater- and curse-induced nightmares now. Any reason to think of something else... He holds onto her hand, though, and lowers it to sit between them. ]
..So it'd work like my device did before?
[ Even if it's not anything big, it's interesting to him. ]

[She stretches out her legs a bit more, paying more attention than she usually might to his reaction. She really does want him to feel better.]
Yeah, but since it won't just be for the display, it'll be a lot brighter and easier to use.
action; ♥!
[ At the moment, his eyes go down to her legs before looking her in the eye again. He stays expressionless and dull, though, as he tends to do when he doesn't want to show his anxiety, but he's focused on her. ]
That sounds great... If we could have something with us all the time, we wouldn't have to worry about creating torches anymore...
[ And not setting rooms on fire... His mouth twitches a little thinking of it. ]

[And his lack of expression makes her worry, because she imagines he's trying to hide his feelings but she can't tell if he's feeling any better...She's paying him enough focus to catch that twitch, though, even if she isn't entirely sure what it means.]
Hmph...Not that there's anything wrong with my torches. But a blastia like this is simple to put together. I can make two of them in no time. [So Tyr can have one, too.]

[ That gets him to smile a little, both because he'll have one too - and he probably needs one - and because...she's really confident, and he knows she can back it up. ]
I believe it. I'd rather use one of your blastia than have to rely on fire magic anyway.
action; ♥!
[It makes her happier to see, too, and she manages a genuine smile back.]
And a blastia is way more efficient for light.
action; ♥!
[ It's contagious to him. The bright smile on his face has absolutely nothing to do with blastia and everything to do with wanting to see her smile more (even though he's not totally sure why she's smiling). He nods. ]
I bet... I can't wait to see it when you make it.
action; ♥!
[Her grin grows along with his. He looks like he's feeling a lot better, so...she's really happy.]
You look pretty excited just for a light. [Her tone's light and maybe a little teasing, but she really is genuinely happy.]
action; ♥!
[ He imagines he must look stupidly happy right now just because she's happy. ]
So do you. [ He says it in the same tone, and he doesn't think she'd get annoyed over it this time. ]
action; ♥!
[And she keeps smiling, not annoyed at all even as she makes an attempt at a protest.]
Who, me? Over a little light?
action; ♥!
Yeah. It must be pretty great for a little light. [ And he's just having fun like a kid. ]

Well, of course it is. It's a blastia, and it'll be made by me. [And now she might be getting into it!]

[ That gets a little laugh out of him, but it's not a cruel one. ] Ah, you're right. That puts it above most torches...
