It's not like I'm going to destroy your device. [Probably. Rita pauses and eyes the picture frames--not that she'd be afraid of anything like that--and decides to go past them to head down the hallway.]

We walked for a while down there...Let's hurry up.

It shouldn't have put out all the lights, either, but it still did. Let's be careful.

[ Thankfully, the frames are just plain, wooden ones. The glass is broken, but that's okay. Not like they're their pictures.

As for her suggestion, he just follows it. The floors are clear, so they can walk quickly without a problem. There are two doors on either wall at the end of the hallway, both of them are closed. But they might as well just go straight, right? ]

Okay, but I don't wanna stick around this place.

[And she'll ignore those frames once she's passed! As long as Tyr's still talking, she doesn't need to glanced back to know he's still there. When they get to the end of the hallway, though, Rita decides...she wants to go left again.]

It's not like we'll be stuck here much longer anyway...

[ And the frames don't do anything, aside from the little sound of the glass cracking a little more as they walk.

But left again? ]

We're going to go in circles if we keep going in the same direction.

[ Not that he's stopping her. Maybe she knows something. ]

We're not going in circles! [At least, she doesn't think so...

She ignores the glass as they walk over it, and opens the door to reveal another similar hallway, this one completely dark.

...It's not like they're scared of a dark corridor, right? They'll keep going.]

Not yet. But we could if we keep going the same way.

[ Tyr isn't scared at all! He's anxious. He shines the light into the room, and so far, it doesn't look bad... He wants to go on, though, and walks in front of her. Maybe the darkness is a sign they're getting closer. ]

You think I don't know that?

[She grumbles, but since Tyr has the light, there's no reason for her not to follow along behind him. The slight glow illuminates a passage that seems to be in a bit more disrepair: the wallpaper is peeling, the picture on the wall is cracked and tilted at a strange angle, and the floorboards are creaky...

T-totally not scary, though...!]

I know you do; I don't know if you noticed where we were going.

[ The atmosphere doesn't put Tyr at ease, though. His voice drops a note, and he's a bit more tense, walking more slowly when he notices how much the floor creaks. What happened in here?, he wonders as he looks around, trying to catch sight of his staff in the light. The picture is just a picture; it isn't even worth looking at. ]

I know exactly where we're going!

[Rita eyes the picture for a few seconds before her eyes move to another door further ahead. So she misses when a hand reaches out right from the picture to brush Tyr's sleeve.]

All right. I won't doubt you, then...

[ Since he's looking ahead, he doesn't see where the hand comes from, but it could be Rita! Maybe she's worried now and wants to take his hand. He moves his hand up to try to take the hand that brushed against his sleeve. ]

You shouldn't doubt me, anyway.

[It's just a bit of a grumble. She glances at a broken light fixture while the phantom hand moves to take Tyr's, stroking almost sensually down his arm.]

I don't. Anyone could lose track of their way here, though.

[ ...You're so weird, Rita. The touch makes him shiver, but he won't refuse to take the hand. ]

Can you see okay?

[ Because there's no other reason to grope his arm otherwise. And that broken light makes him realise how dark it is. ]

Maybe if they had a bad sense...

Huh? I can- [She turns to look at him now, gets one glance of him holding hands with a translucent arm, and yells in shock.] W-what the hell are you--what is that?!

[ Any other part of their conversation is forgotten when she suddenly yells. ]

What is— [ He looks over his shoulder to her- or he assumed it would be her. He cries in surprise and lets go of the hand, backing away to the other wall. ]

[Everything else, totally forgotten. Rita backs away too, eyes fixed on the--the whatever-it-is (not ghost) as the transparent female figure leans out of the picture.]\

D-didn't you even notice?

I thought it was you!

[ It looks like a ghost to Tyr! Its eyes are blank like a statue's, and Tyr tries not to look into them. He really thought that was Rita?!

He looks away from it and over to Rita, grabbing her hand. ]

Come on, let's get going!

Idiot!

[She's too not-scared to continue, You thought that thing was me?!, and is more than happy to get going. She starts shoving him in the direction they were originally going.]

Let's move!

[ Everything feels the same when you're not thinking. He won't even object to being called an idiot, though, even if she calls him one again. He starts running towards the end of the hall, to the first door he sees. ]

Okay!

[ Behind them, there's the sound of bellowing. It's loud and hollow and, honestly, he just wants to get away from it. How could he think that was Rita!? ]

[And Tyr can't really be blamed for it; she's just horrified at this thing.

She grits her teeth at that horrible sound as she runs with him. Is it going to chase them?] Hurry up!

[There's more than one doorway, and although the first door isn't exactly secure on its hinges, it's unlocked.]

[ In that way ghosts do, maybe, by coming out of the picture and then disappearing, but it hasn't reappeared. ]

I am!

[ Tyr doesn't care if the door is secure as long as it doesn't fall on them and the floor beyond it doesn't fall in on them. He flings that door open without caring if it comes out of its frame - or he thinks that he wouldn't care, anyway. When it actually creaks and nearly comes off its hinges, he freezes and hurriedly takes a step back and tries to keep it from falling off. ]

[That concern is exactly what keeps her from feeling relieved when she glances back and doesn't see anything. Then, impatient, she shoves her way in front of Tyr.]

What are you doing? [With a swift gesture from her whip, her blastia unleashes enough mana to blow the door right off and into the room. She sure doesn't care about destroying the place...] Now come on!

[ He bites his lips, but...if Rita is okay with doing this, Tyr's okay, too.

The door is knocked into the middle of the walkway, which looked like an old drawing room. It's about as bad as the hallway they're in, though. The chairs have torn seats and the table is toppled over with broken and missing legs, and there's a mildewy smell that probably has something to do with the peeling wallpaper and stained walls. Even the pictures didn't stay on the walls and they lay face-down and broken on the floor. Rita doesn't need to destroy this room herself!

Without a word to her, he rushes into the new room. Like any drawing room, it has another door on the other end - this one completely shut. ]

[Huff, it's less satisfying to trash a room that's already falling apart. Rita dashes after him towards the other door, broken glass cracking under their feet, and she spots some pale, translucent figures rising from the fallen frames...] No--hurry up!

[ Tyr looks over to her, somewhat confused, but those figures... Maybe they'll chase after them instead of the one that touched him before.

But it won't matter if they do, will it? Tyr shakes his head. ]

They're not real! We don't need to run like this.

[ He trails beside her at the same pace, though, towards the door. ]

You think they're just imaginary or something?!

[Didn't one grab Tyr's hand earlier? If he felt that, she's positive they're not just illusions, and she's quick to fling the next door open.]
