[The video's not very clear when it comes on; it's dark and gloomy, showing hints of thick dust and cobwebs--a glimpse of a window reveals deep fog--and then it shifts to Rita's wide-eyed face. When she speaks, she's trying very hard to pretend she's calm...and failing pretty horribly.]

I-is anyone else stuck in this weirdo place? I mean, it's not like I need help or anything, but-

[A loud creak and sudden clatter of footsteps interrupts her, the shutters to the window abruptly blowing open, and she jumps with a yelp.] Aah--! Uh--it's not sc--just where's the exit, already?!

[Maybe realizing that the video's still recording her little freak-out, she quickly shuts it off.]

[The curse is obviously working against them, and after that close call...She has to agree with him, as much as she hates giving up.] As long as nothing else can see us, either.

[ It doesn't feel like giving up to Tyr; they did everything they could.

He just hopes there's nothing else there... He wishes he could see her rather than just feeling her and hearing her. ] I don't think there's anything else down here... Something would have happened if there was...

[And their everything wasn't good enough. Even though they should know by now that they can't fight curses.]

What about those...those things that were all over us? They could be anywhere! [And just suggesting it gives her the creeps. Now they can't even see anything coming.]

[ Tyr isn't going to let that get him down just because, still, they're not dead...

Even though she can't see it, he shakes his head and shifts in front of her to hold her shoulder. ] We'd be able to feel them if they touched us, and we'll destroy them if they do.

[Not yet are Rita's thoughts. She jumps a bit at the touch of his hand, stifling her gasp when she realizes it's just Tyr.] I don't want them touching us again in the first place!

[ He rubs her shoulder a little, narrowing his eyes uncertainly. Part of the reason he touched her in the first place was so she'd know where both his hands were... ]

Maybe they won't. There's no point getting worked up about it now.

What do you mean, there's no point? [She raises her voice a bit, still anxious, but a bit more relieved than she might admit.]

[ He keeps his voice firm, like he would when he talks to Riou, but keeps stroking her shoulder. ] Worrying will just make you paranoid and think things are there when they're not. You'll think more clearly if you calm down.

What makes you think I'm not thinking clearly? [She sounds a bit more normal this time, more like her usual attitude.]

[stargathering]

I meant in general... [ And he's relieved that she's not panicking. He lets his hand slip down to rest on her leg. ]

Is that really all you meant? [At least she knows it's his hand for certain this time. Still, she's a bit restless.] So...we're just going to wait here?

[stargathering]

Yeah... [ For the most part at least. ] There's not much else we can do other than wait here... If we set a fire, it'd be easier for something to find us.

[He's right, of course, and she sighs.] ...I hate sitting around and waiting.

[stargathering]

So do I... [ But the defeated tone in his voice means he's not going to do anything else. ]

It can't be too much longer, though...

Do you even know what time it is? [Because Rita's pretty sure she must have dropped her device sometime.]

No...

[ He thinks he lost his staff, but his device should still be in his pocket. He shifts around and reaches into his pocket to pull it out. Feeling over the surface, he can feel the surface if cracked (maybe broken, but not enough to cut his gloves). He glances up at Rita as he tries to find the button. If they're going to be stuck here for who-knows-how-long, they should have some light. ]

Close your eyes.

Huh? What are you going to do? [She's stubborn for now; she doesn't like doing things without knowing why.]

action; ♥!

[stargathering]

Try to turn on my device. [ And he has no idea how to adjust the brightness. He's a little apprehensive, but a little light from it wouldn't be bad... ]

action; ♥!

[blastiafreak]

It's not like it's going to be a bomb or something. [But she does go ahead and close her eyes, even if he can't see it in the pitch black.]

action; ♥!

[stargathering]

It'll be bright, though. [ And sting... He's learned this from randomly turning it on at night. After saying that, though, he goes ahead and turns it on, which just shows a white screen. No greeting or start up animation, no background, no menus. Just white. He sighs, assuming it's really broken, and sets it his lap. ]

action; ♥!

[blastiafreak]

It's not like we want it to be dark...[It really is bright when she cracks her eyes open a bit, though, so she keeps them closed a little while longer.] Well?

action; ♥!

[stargathering]

[ Seeing her eyes close again, he flips it over so the light only shines through from underneath, but in the darkness, that little bit of light still seems bright. ] It's broken... It won't even do anything besides turn on.

action; ♥!

[blastiafreak]

[Now that it's not so glaring, she opens her eyes to look at him, then down at the device.] What? You're kidding, right?

action; ♥!

[stargathering]

I'm not! [ He's trying to blink away the flashes of light in his eyes, but goes ahead to flip it over for her to see. It's just a broken, white screen still. ]

action; ♥!

[blastiafreak]

Hey--ow! [Ugh, it's bright! She brings up her free hand to shield her eyes from the glare, squinting.] I don't believe this! So we don't even know how much longer!
