[ He opens his mouth to say something - mostly that he was watching the screen instead of where he was going - but closes it and switches the connection to audio only before slipping it into his pocket. ]

I was just distracted by the device... There.

[ And with that, he tries to pick himself up and keep going. ]

[Even if she's not paying all her attention to the screen, she doesn't really like not being able to see him...]

Then...Just pay more attention, and be careful, okay?

[She's found another staircase, at least, so it's time to head down again.]

[ And this time, Tyr has learned his lesson and starts running again. ]

I will. [ He keeps saying that, at least. ] You be careful, too, all right?

[ As long as he can hear her, he's not too scared for her. ]

Right. I will. [She passes a window as she goes down the staircase and tries not to look at it; the faces in the fog she saw last time she tried that were really creepy. In the meantime, she tries to listen for Tyr's footsteps beyond just the device. They can't be too far apart now, can they?]

[ Hopefully not... Tyr flies down the stairs as fast as he can without falling again or letting the rope fall too slack. ]

...It might be better to run, too... Unless you're tired. [ Like he's getting. ]

I...I'm not tired! [Even if she's breathing hard and slowing down...So just for that, she increases her pace again. She really does just want to find Tyr and the exit and be done with this curse-

And then, bursting in from a hallway, she nearly runs right into him with a startled yell.]

[ As much as he hoped to find her, he hadn't actually expected her to find him like this - and it's somewhat lucky his nerves didn't make him strike her before his mind could register that it really was her.

When he comes to a stop himself, he's dizzy, but that's only part of the reason he takes a few steps backwards and rests his hands on her shoulders. For a few seconds, he just stares at her like he's never seen her before. ]

[They're probably both lucky that neither of them tried to hit the other. Wide-eyed, Rita gapes and gasps for air, almost overwhelmingly glad to see him...]

I...I said to watch where you were going!

[Really...really happy to see him.]

...

[ And he sort of laughs in relief. Yes, she's very happy to see him, and she's very her about it. His voice turns a little quiet, but still pretty light-hearted when he responds. ]

And I thought you were the one who was charging at me...

I was not-!

[She sputters a bit, then glances down at the rope and grabs his hand.]

L-let's go, okay?

[ He holds her hand tightly and nods. ]

All right. Let's go.

[ He scoops up bit of rope as he starts walking. He doesn't feel like he really needs to watch his way with the line acting as a guide; he can feel out his path. Instead, he glances her over to make sure she isn't hurt. ]

[She nods, keeping her eyes forward as they go and her grip tight on his hand. After a while, she blurts out-]

Uh--th-thanks. For coming, and everything...

[ He runs his thumb over the back of her hand- just for a second - and looks forward again. ] I couldn't leave you here... I thought you were in trouble.

[ Because she seems so scared. He leaves that part out, though. She probably knows that anyway, he figures. ]

[She blinks at the little gesture, glances at him out of the corner of her eye.] It...it's not like I was...I mean, it was a curse, and...

[So she could have been in trouble, and she was really scared--still is, a little bit--and she's glad that they're on their way out.]

[ He's still looking straight ahead when she looks over at him. ] ...and I didn't want to take a chance. It's dangerous to take on these curses on your own.

[ When they're outside, they can breathe easy, Tyr thinks, but after running so much, he doesn't want to rush now and get sloppy. ]

It's not like I ran in here on purpose...

[Although she was careless...Rita, though, still wants to get out as quickly as possible, and starts trying to tug him ahead.]

I know you didn't... That doesn't matter in the end, though. [ If she was hurt, she was hurt... Thinking that probably sounds harsh, he adds- ] I wouldn't blame you in any case.

[ Well, if she wants to rush, he won't be the one to hold her back; it's not like her being scared of the house would come as a surprise to him. He picks up his pace to keep up with her. ]

O-obviously. [Even if maybe she was a bit worried about what he was thinking...

To cover her embarrassment, she just pulls him forward more quickly, following the rope.]

Come on, let's get out of here!

[ And he comes along, gathering up the rope in one hand. Maybe she's still scared... ]

We are. It shouldn't be that much further...

[ Of course, it probably looked like it was a shorter distance when he was sprinting. ]

[J-just a little...not that she'll admit it!]

Yeah...The rope was a good idea.

[ Tyr knows anyway! ]

I'm glad I didn't have to run out of it before you found me. [ He was happy to admit this, even a little amused. Probably because he's glad it worked, too. ]

[No truth needed!]

Just how much did you bring?

[ Nope! Not with Rita!

He pulls out the length of rope from the inside of his cloak to show her. It's just a loose ring now, but still quite a bit of rope. ] A few yards' worth.

[Never ever~!

At that, she frowns back at him.] A few yards, and you were going to search a whole house with that?

[ And he feels less happy now. ] I actually planned to make a map, but I didn't have much of a choice in the end.
