That's what all curses are for. [She pauses in her grumbling as her eyes follow the line of the rope...to see it wrapped around a lamp. She turns to Tyr with a scowl.]

H-hey...You didn't run all over the place, did you?

[ Following the path of the rope, he frowns and tries to fight back the sinking feeling in his gut. ] ...It must have been an accident. [ He takes a few steps forward and swings the rope over the lamp to untangle it. ] I was desperate, so...I might have made a mistake.

[ Going to class soon! o/ ]

Like running in a circle? [Already, she's alarmed and skeptical about this working out. Of course it won't be that easy. She's so fixated on it that she doesn't really think about how he said that he was desperate to get to her.]

[Okay! Have fun! o/]

[ His mouth twitches into a grimace, but it's gone after a second. And really, he was desperate, but he knows he wasn't that careless. ] I don't know.

[ He tugs her hand. ] Let's just keep going.

[ Thanks! It was pretty nice :3 ]

[Rita highly doubts that, careless or not, he'd end up looping the rope around a light fixture like that. She trails after him halfheartedly.] It has to be the curse.

[That's great! :> And welcome back~]

... [ He wishes she wasn't losing hope like this; it's making him feel sick too. ] Even if it messed with the rope, we still have a way out... It just won't be through the front door.

[She can only be cynical, especially when it comes to an October curse.] How do you know it'll even still lead outside? If the curse is messing with it, it'll probably just lead us in circles!

[ The fact he knows she's right is frustrating. ] Then we'll just use the rest of this and climb out a window! We don't even need to follow the rope!

[ ♥ ]

Y-you want to what? [She gapes and sputters at him for a second, but ultimately...Her fear of ghosts outweighs her fear of heights.] Then find a window, already!

[Besides, they can't be that high up anymore, after all the flights of stairs she came down...]

[ At first, he thinks she's going to say that's too dangerous, but the fact she's less concerned about falling to her death than she is about getting out... What did this place do to her?

But he just nods and starts pulling her out of the room, following the rope a little more until they're in a hallway again. ] Then come on.

Do you even know where you're going...? [She mutters it, just for lack of anything better to do as she follows along. She spent enough time wandering around and being scared out of her wits, so she can't really say she doesn't want to get out somehow.]

[ That's really not encouraging... He stops and turns around to look at her. ] You can lead instead.

You think I know? [She stops with him, glancing off to the side.]

[Off to get food! o/]

I know I don't. [ Part of him wants to just stubbornly keep going regardless of where they end up, but the rope's path doesn't feel that safe anymore. ]

[ Okay! Enjoy! \o ]

...Ugh, whatever. Let's just go! [She doesn't want to just stand around--that seems like an even worse option to her--so she pulls Tyr forward again.]

All right, all right. [ And on they go! Tyr didn't want to stand around any more either, but she had him questioning himself. The rope goes out and open door to a narrow corridor. ]

[ Welcome back!! ]

[She slows for half a step as they enter the corridor, but it's not like hesitating will get them anywhere...Onward they go.]

[Thank you~! /o/]

[ He notices, and gives her a little look, but as long as they're going, he won't embarrass her by asking about it.

The cord is pulled tight as they walk, and just looking at it gives him a headache, with its dim lighting and unfortunate lack of windows. Tyr doesn't really remember walking through this particular passage, either. ...But he's already told himself by now that his memory of the house is spotty at best. ]

[ \o\ ]

[Her eyes dart around the walls of the corridor, though there's not much to see, except--a bunch of portraits.

Rita abruptly stops short.] W-wait a minute...

[ He looks back at her again, not seeing anything wrong aside from the fact it's sort of dark. Sure there are a lot of portraits - some that are only about the size of a sheet of paper and some that could easily taller than either of them - but they're just paint and canvas; nothing to worry about. ]

What's wrong?

[And she whips around to sputter at him-] What do mean, what's wrong?!

[Wait, wait, she doesn't want to take her eyes off of the portraits. Quickly, she turns back to stare down the hallway.] W-we can't go this way!

[ He takes an automatic step backwards, and takes a second to look between her and the pictures. Not seeing anything... He grips her hand and starts walking. ]

Get a hold of yourself. You're imagining things now.

Just what do you think I'm imagining?! [Of course, nothing's happening yet...But she's still not going! She tries to tug Tyr back again.] Hey! I said we can't go this way!

[ He doesn't drag her for now, but he looks at her suspiciously. ] What's wrong with this way?

[ He really doesn't know what she's imagining; it's her imagination! ]

[She's not imaginating anything-!! ;_; He gets another insistent tug on his hand.] Those things are alive, okay?! Now let's go!
