[The video's not very clear when it comes on; it's dark and gloomy, showing hints of thick dust and cobwebs--a glimpse of a window reveals deep fog--and then it shifts to Rita's wide-eyed face. When she speaks, she's trying very hard to pretend she's calm...and failing pretty horribly.]

I-is anyone else stuck in this weirdo place? I mean, it's not like I need help or anything, but-

[A loud creak and sudden clatter of footsteps interrupts her, the shutters to the window abruptly blowing open, and she jumps with a yelp.] Aah--! Uh--it's not sc--just where's the exit, already?!

[Maybe realizing that the video's still recording her little freak-out, she quickly shuts it off.]

[ He glances over at her, and he doesn't know what to think. ] ...We'll be fine from here on anyway, so it doesn't matter. I didn't need to make a map or explore the whole house for us to find each other.

R-right...Besides, we have your rope. [And she'll just...focus on that as it leads them to another staircase going down...

What floor are they even on? Rita hasn't seen a window.]

That's right. [ It is asking too much of him to know how many flights he went up, but he doesn't think it could be too far. ] We should be almost out, too...

[It doesn't stop her from trying to ask him, just because she's anxious to get out now.] "Should"? You know how far you went, don't you?

Not really... [ It's almost a mumble. ] I wasn't concentrating on the distance. I thought the rope would be enough...

Oh... [Because he was worried, she remembers.] Well, it's not like we can get lost following this back.

Exactly. Estimating the distance myself probably wouldn't work that well anyway; we could still get lost.

Yeah...And I swear this place is built like a maze. [As it leads them around a corner, through a room, and down another corridor.]

[ If it was even built... He holds that part in and just agrees with her instead, nodding. ] Yeah... I guess this entire curse is meant to be disorienting.

action; ♥!

That's what all curses are for. [She pauses in her grumbling as her eyes follow the line of the rope...to see it wrapped around a lamp. She turns to Tyr with a scowl.]

H-hey...You didn't run all over the place, did you?

action; ♥!

[stargathering]

[ Following the path of the rope, he frowns and tries to fight back the sinking feeling in his gut. ] ...It must have been an accident. [ He takes a few steps forward and swings the rope over the lamp to untangle it. ] I was desperate, so...I might have made a mistake.

[ Going to class soon! o/ ]

Like running in a circle? [Already, she's alarmed and skeptical about this working out. Of course it won't be that easy. She's so fixated on it that she doesn't really think about how he said that he was desperate to get to her.]

[ His mouth twitches into a grimace, but it's gone after a second. And really, he was desperate, but he knows he wasn't that careless. ] I don't know.

[ He tugs her hand. ] Let's just keep going.

[Rita highly doubts that, careless or not, he'd end up looping the rope around a light fixture like that. She trails after him halfheartedly.] It has to be the curse.

... [ He wishes she wasn't losing hope like this; it's making him feel sick too. ] Even if it messed with the rope, we still have a way out... It just won't be through the front door.

[She can only be cynical, especially when it comes to an October curse.] How do you know it'll even still lead outside? If the curse is messing with it, it'll probably just lead us in circles!

[ The fact he knows she's right is frustrating. ] Then we'll just use the rest of this and climb out a window! We don't even need to follow the rope!

Y-you want to what? [She gapes and sputters at him for a second, but ultimately...Her fear of ghosts outweighs her fear of heights.] Then find a window, already!

[Besides, they can't be that high up anymore, after all the flights of stairs she came down...]

[ At first, he thinks she's going to say that's too dangerous, but the fact she's less concerned about falling to her death than she is about getting out... What did this place do to her?

But he just nods and starts pulling her out of the room, following the rope a little more until they're in a hallway again. ] Then come on.

action; ♥!

Do you even know where you're going...? [She mutters it, just for lack of anything better to do as she follows along. She spent enough time wandering around and being scared out of her wits, so she can't really say she doesn't want to get out somehow.]

[stargathering]

[ That's really not encouraging... He stops and turns around to look at her. ] You can lead instead.

action; ♥!

You think I know? [She stops with him, glancing off to the side.]

[Off to get food! o/]

I know I don't. [ Part of him wants to just stubbornly keep going regardless of where they end up, but the rope's path doesn't feel that safe anymore. ]

[ Okay! Enjoy! \o ]

...Ugh, whatever. Let's just go! [She doesn't want to just stand around--that seems like an even worse option to her--so she pulls Tyr forward again.]

All right, all right. [ And on they go! Tyr didn't want to stand around any more either, but she had him questioning himself. The rope goes out and open door to a narrow corridor. ]
