[That grin freaks Rita out so much that she doesn't entirely hear what Tyr's saying, too busy grimacing in fear. Her wide eyes are focused on the portrait and not the device as she yells-]

C-cut it out!

[ He knows she isn't talking to her, and he doesn't say anything in case it distracts her. Nope, just running in the general direction of (where he thinks) her house is.

The portrait keeps smiling at her, maybe something in its eyes that say it's having too much fun to stop. ]

[A part of her almost wants to tell him to hurry up when she hears his rapid footsteps through the device, but she settles for glowering at the portrait, backing up against a wall, and starting to cast a spell.]

I'm sick of this!

I'm coming as quickly as I can!

[ He just hasn't seen anything but white mist all around him, like he's not going anywhere at all.

The portrait, in turn, pouts at her, but it does so in the most mocking way possible. ]

Just- [She hates that portrait, she hates this house--trying to avoid snapping at Tyr, she just finished her spell and casts another fireball at the portrait.]

[ She must be really scared..., he thinks. If he wasn't running in sand, he knows he would get there sooner and not just kick the sand as he ran.

He doesn't even know what it means when he hears a ring of laughter from the device. The portait blew the fireball out like it was the flame of a candle, and the wide grin was back on its face, somehow more broad now. ]

Wha...N-no way... [Rita gapes in disbelief. She's never had one of her spells snuffed out that easily. Suddenly she's a lot more worried; if her magic can't do anything, then...]

[ The picture laughed at her again, enjoying her worry, but it didn't move from its frame.

Tyr was getting suspicious, though. ] Are you okay?

[ And now he actually is getting tired, his breath heavy when he speaks. ]

I'm- [She doesn't even know how to answer that, eyes fixed in fear and anger on the portrait. A part of her vaguely thinks that there's no guarantee Tyr's even running in the right direction.]

It's just some...weird monster or something!

[ He might or might not be ~~depending on which you want~~... He's running, though. Desperately, even. ]

Can you get away from it?

[ The portrait starts humming happily and makes a "come here" gesture to her. ]

Y-you want me to run away? [~~Either way is good with me~~~ Rita scowls, wanting so badly to burn the thing to a crisp, and then starts reluctantly along the hallway again without turning her back to it.]

You're alone; it's safer to run away. [ ~~Okay~ :3~~ Tyr can't even keep watching his device with the screen shaking as he moves.

When Rita begins walking away, though, the portrait pouts at her again. Its new favourite playmate is leaving! ]

I...I know. [She bites back her impulse to respond defensively and glares at the portrait again. She's not sticking around to play!]

[ He's just glad she isn't being stubborn. He's still worried about her, but as long as she's not going to be reckless, he can calm down a little. ] Good...

[ The portrait doesn't move, but it doesn't take its eyes off of Rita, either. It doesn't seem to care about the conversation at all. ]

[And since she thought of it, she is trying to keep that promise in mind now.]

You can't see anything yet, can you? [Talking to Tyr at least helps get her mind off of the creepy portrait, from which she's still backing away.]

No... [ He's a little reluctant to admit it, but he's not going to let that be a deterrent. ] It can't be much more, th—

[ If Rita needed an example of just how little visibility he has, he practically runs into the side of a house before he slides to a stop (and almost loses his footing in the process). ]

Hey! [It comes up so quickly that he's already stopping before she yells.] Watch where you're going!

[It's just because she's worried that he could get hurt. Now, though, she's also curious about whether or not he's made it to the right place.]

[ He actually rests his hand against the wall of the house to catch his breath as he replies. That close. ]

You know I can't see out here. [ He doesn't take any offence to her telling him to be careful, though. He knows he should have been.

As far as he can see around him, it looks like one of the sides of her house, albeit he can't see any holes in the walls. Or much at all besides the fact it's a wooden house. ]

Then don't go running into anything if you can't see! [She doesn't want him to get trapped, too. Whether or not the house is the same, that's still going to worry her.] It...it might be the place, but be careful.

[ He gives her a quick, little glare, but in the end, he just drops it. ] I'll be as careful as I can from now on...

[ And he starts walking along the outside of the house, using his hand as a guide.

Rita better not let her guard down for that portrait, either. ]

Good. And show me the front before you go in or anything, got it? [So she can take a look, even if she's not certain about how the building looked in the fog...

And she might just be a little distracted by Tyr.]

[ He nods. ] I will. If this isn't the place, I'll just keep looking. [ He's sure she knows what the building she went into looks like, even if she confused it for her own house.

And it really is not Tyr's intention to make that person start crawling out of the picture frame. ]

Right...And don't get lost, or...

[It takes her a second to notice the movement and a few more to register what she's seeing.

And then she can't help but shriek at the thing.]

Rita!? [ He totally ignores whatever she says and freezes for a beat before just running to find the entrance.

The monster is just glad to have her attention again, though it's busy shoving its upperbody out, picking itself up with its hands gripping the outside of the picture frame like it's windowsill. ]

[And now the monster definitely has her complete attention, as Tyr gets ignored in favour of her shouting at the thing some more.]

No--get away! [She doesn't know what to do besides casting another spell--a bigger one this time.]
